Discover the Origin – Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese & Parma Ham Masterclass

The Restaurant Association of Ireland in conjunction with the Discover the Origin campaign, invites all members to attend a Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese & Prosciutto Ham masterclass presented by expert food writer and consultant Aoife Carrigy.

In Ireland, we have never been more attuned to where and how our food and drink are being sourced, and never more interested in the traditions behind the production process. And so it is timely that Discover the Origin has launched a campaign which unites a delicious fusion of five Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) products: Parma Ham, Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese, Burgundy Wines, Port and Douro Wines.

Each product in the Discover the Origin campaign is unique to the region in which it is produced and celebrated the world over for its flavours, history and traditions.Tapping into this deep interest in the gastronomical delights of the world and aiming to promote food and drink that has real provenance, Discover the Origin and The Restaurant Association of Ireland are planning a series of practical and informative masterclass sessions in 2012.

These events  will raise awareness of PDO products among  restaurant, hotel and catering staff professionals.  They will showcase exciting recipes for Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese and Parma Ham and will include pairings with some of the iconic wines of Burgundy and the Douro Valley, as well as world renowned Ports.

The first masterclass will be taking place:
